Toronto’s Graffiti Alley

Usually graffiti is a big problem in urban cities across the world. But while on assignment in Toronto this summer, Jodi and I went to see the “Graffiti Alley” in Toronto. The city designated certain alleys in a square block area that allows and encourages graffiti!

This approach has allowed artists to be, well, artists. Rules, just keep it clean. And from what we saw, the tagger’s did just that with their playful cartoon tags offering a variety of topics. It has become one of the cities tourist attractions and we saw dozens of visitors walking the various alleys enjoying the amazing colorful art that changed dull looking ugly alleys into canvas’ works of art!  Enjoy some of Jodi’s images from that day.
