Finding a successful business owner who is willing to sit down for an in-depth interview is one thing. Finding someone who is willing to trust us with some creative – and sometimes crazy – photography ideas is something else entirely.
Chef Chris Pavlou, owner of the Pavlou Restaurant Group, never hesitated.
From the moment we started photographing him, he embraced the experience. Between shots, there was plenty of laughter, joking around, and a willingness to try just about anything we suggested. Ironically, one of those spontaneous, fun moments became the image that perfectly captured his personality and ultimately the story featured image.
We weren’t sure Chris would approve such a bold photograph, but he immediately understood the vision. He gave both the image and the story his enthusiastic approval.
For our Summer 2026 issue of Impossible to Ignore, we went beyond the restaurants and explored the person behind them. Chris spoke candidly about leadership, creativity, consistency, and the challenges that shaped both his career and his restaurant group. At times, you could tell the conversation brought him back to some deeply personal moments, making the interview as meaningful as it was informative.
