- When should I schedule my senior photo session? The best time for senior photos is typically during the summer before your senior year or early fall. Scheduling early allows for the best weather, more location options, and plenty of time of time to use your images for yearbooks, graduation announcements, and family gifts.
- What should I wear for my senior photos? Choose outfits that reflect your personality and style. We recommend bringing a variety of looks, such as casual clothing, something dressier, and any uniforms or activity-related attire that showcase your interests. We can assist with outfit planning before your session.
- Can I include sports, hobbies, or musical instruments in my session? Absolutely! And we encourage that. Senior portraits should celebrate who YOU are. Whether you’re an athlete, musician, artist, dancer, or involved in other activities, we encourage you to bring items that help tell YOUR story.
- Where do senior photo session take place? We photograph seniors throughout Northwest Indiana and the surrounding Chicagoland area. Popular locations include parks, downtown areas, athletic fields, lakefront settings, nature preserves, and urban environments. We also have our own photography studio where we usually begin sessions. We’ll help select a location that fits your personality and style.
- How long does a senior session last? Most sessions last between one and two hours, depending on your package selection and number of locations, outfit changes, and creative concepts we plan for your shoot.
- Can parents attend the photo session? Of course! We always need extra hands to help carry our bags and equipment! Just kidding, parents are always welcome to attend and often enjoy being part of the experience. We work to create a relaxed environment where seniors feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
- Do you help with posing? Yes. Most seniors are not professional models, and they don’t need to be. We provide guidance throughout the session, helping with natural poses and expressions that showxase each senior’s personality.
- How many outfit changes can I bring? We encourage seniors to bring multiple outfit options. Most sessions include several clothing changes to provide variety and create a diverse collection of images.
- When will I receive my photos? After your session, we will send a proof gallery of all of the images we captured for your review and selection of your favorites. That is usually within two days of your shoot! After you select your favorite images, we’ll carefully edit them so you look your absolute best while maintaining a natural appearance.
- Can I order prints, wall art, and graduation announcements and party invites? Yes. We offer a variety of professional-quality print products, wall art, albums, granduation announcements, and other keepsakes to help you preserve this important milestone.
- What areas do you serve? Bella Photography proudly serves Northwest Indiana communities including Merrillville, Crown Point, Highland, Munster, Schererville, St. John, Dyer, Chesterton, Hobart, and surrounding Chicagoland communities.
Where should we take your photos? Some of the best locations for senior photos in Northwest Indiana include the Indiana Dunes, downtown Valparaiso, urban settings, sports fields, the lakefront, fall locations with trees, any downtown area. We have even photographed in and around old buildings, in allyways, and of course in and around our 110 year old studio building in Valparaiso. We can make great imagery just about anywhere! The photos are about YOU! Not necessarily where!
